Ms. Maria WIRTH

Maria works for alchemia-nova GmbH, an R&D company in the field of circular economy and circular applications of nature-based solutions based in Vienna, Austria, with projects all over Europe, Africa and China. Maria works with cities, national governments, businesses and academia focusing on circular cities and the application of nature-based solutions to close water and nutrient loops, the assessment of recoverable resource potentials, institutional enablers and co-design of business models for wider application. She has also contributed to technical, social and economic value chain analyses, as well as activities comprising education, training and technology-transfer.
Previously, she worked at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in Myanmar on sustainable development of the aquaculture sector, as well as at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) on sustainable development of agri-food value chains in projects worldwide.
Maria holds an MSc. degree in Environmental Technology & International Affairs from Technische Universität Wien (TU Wien).
