Engr. Mark Kennedy Escobilla BANTUGON

Engr. Mark Kennedy Bantugon, hailing from the agricultural heartland of Batangas, Philippines, as the son of a local farmer and public-school teacher, is a young Filipino Inventor, Materials Scientist & Researcher, and Aeronautical Engineer by license profession. He is also the CEO and President of Pili AdheSeal Inc., a green technology company providing sustainable adhesive and sealant solutions across user industries and different material applications. Recognized as the first Filipino Inventor to receive the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) National Awards for Inventor as the highest recognition given by the esteemed World Intellectual Property Organization, he was also named the 2023 National Geographic Society’s Young Explorer in Human Ingenuity and James Dyson Awardee. Recently, he won the Asia CEO Awards 2024 for Most Innovative Company of the Year and recognized by the UNICEF as Youth Achiever Awardee in Science & Technology for the 2024 World Children’s Day Celebration.

Currently, he is in a relentless pursuit of knowledge, finishing his master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering by Research at Mapúa University, Philippines under the support of the Department of Science and Technology Scholarship.

Engr. Bantugon's journey from a humble farming background to a pioneering Filipino Inventor and advocate for sustainable innovation is a testament to the transformative power of dedication, creativity, and a vision for a better future. His father, a local farmer in the Philippines, served as a source of inspiration that led to the discovery and creation of his Pili invention. Meanwhile, his mother, a dedicated public-school teacher, instilled in him a deep appreciation for the importance and solid foundation of education, which he, in turn, uses to educate and empower young minds, particularly in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). His work continues to inspire and empower not only the Philippines but the global community at large.
